The Community Development Department has pursued the central theme of orderly growth management and development within existing communities and the enhancement of economic opportunities through comprehensive planning. Thus, the overall goal is to promote economic and community development through planning in older distressed communities while aiding those communities experiencing growth through proper land use management activities. In order to achieve this goal, the CCPC provides technical assistance to local municipalities and agencies through municipal data analysis, grant applications and development studies, and municipal growth management through local zoning ordinance development and subdivision and land development ordinance preparation
