This website contains information about the Service Efforts and Accomplishments that the commissioners complete each year. It is our duty to report to the citizens of the county on our efforts and accomplishments.
This year we are covering five departments within County government. They are the Commissioner’s Office, County Prison, Emergency Management and the agencies making up the County’s Human Services Operations.
The “Cambria County Counts! ”Report is intended to be an annual publication and will operate as our report card to the citizens of the county. It will also be a way for each of you to track our progress in the effective and efficient delivery of governmental services on a year-to-year basis. This report compares years 2004 through 2007. It also outlines goals for the future. We commit to providing the taxpayer with ongoing information about the scope of county services. It is our hope to expand this report to include more departments covering more information in the future.

As Cambria County begins its third century, our mission will be to rebuild Cambria
County and to position Cambria County for growth and prosperity in the future.
We are committed to re-establishing the foundation of sound fiscal government and
reducing County debt. By following these principles, we can reduce the cost of doing
business and provide fundamental services to the people of Cambria County in an
exceptional and cost effective manner.
Decisions will be based on the following convictions:
- County Government must function within its means, always sensitive to community standards.
- The welfare of the people must always supersede political and personal ambitions.
- County leaders must be vigilant to seek out opportunities for growth and enhanced quality of life for our citizens.
- County leaders must be available and accountable.
- County leaders must provide direction and set the example of high ethics and a commitment to excellence.
