Hello and welcome to the second edition of the “Cambria County Counts” Service Efforts and Report. It is our report to the citizens of the county on our efforts and accomplishments. This year we are covering five departments within County
government. They are the Commissioner’s Office, County Prison, Emergency Management and the agencies making up the County’s Human Services Operations.
The “Cambria County Counts” Report is intended to be an annual publication and will operate as our report card to card the citizens of the county. It will also be a way for each of you to track our progress in the effective and efficient delivery of governmental services on a year-to-year basis. This report compares years 2004 through 2007. It also outlines goals
for the future. We commit to providing the taxpayer with ongoing information about the scope of county services. It is our hope to expand this report to include more departments covering more information in the future.
As we continually strive to provide quality services at a reasonable cost; we want to give you the information for you to determine if we have been successful. We feel it is important that the Cambria County citizens have access to the latest information about the progress we are making as stewards of your tax dollars.
As we like to say, if you can't agree on the facts, you can't have a meaningful debate. So now you hold the facts in your hand, and our hope is that you will find the County more transparent and accountable as a result.
