Effective on March 7th, 2011, Cambria County Building Codes Enforcement Agency d/b/a as Laurel Municipal Inspection Agency was appointed to adminster and enforce the Uniform Construction Codes. 

Prior to starting any repairs, alterations, or construction projects; please contact the Borough Office at 736-4330 or Cambria County Building Codes Enforcement Agency d/b/a/ as Laurel Municipal Inspection Agency to determine if a building permit is required.  The forms can be obtained at the Borough Office or , Cambria County Building Codes Office, or from the list below. 

Residents can complete their application and mail it to Cambria County Building Codes Office d/b/a/ as Laurel Municipal Inspection Agency to obtain the necessary compliance/building permit.  A signed Municipal Authorization Form from Portage Borough must accompany the application prior to the issuance of the permit.   

NEW:  Re-shingling a roof now requires a work/compliance permit.  There is no inspection but proof of disposal is required.  Receipt of disposal must be submitted to Cambria County Building Codes Enforcement Agency d/b/a/ as Laurel Municipal Inspection Agency .
